Clay & Cotton is a women's apparel and home furnishings boutique that specializes in beautiful and uniquely designed Area Rugs, Bedding, Pillows, Fabrics, Women's Clothing & Clothing Accessories, Pottery, Bath & Body Care Products, Pet Products, Candles, Music & Home Décor items.

We opened the shop in 2004 by carrying just two product lines. From there, we have actively searched for new items, evolving into an eclectic mixture of different lines for the home, the pet and the person. Needing more room, we expanded into an old and beautiful retail space in the Highlands neighborhood of Louisville. The building is on the historic register and its beginnings date back to the nineteenth century. The space is located on a busy corner of Bardstown Road, a fashionable upscale shopping district, which is reminiscent of the neighborhoods in San Francisco, Soho and Chicago. We continued to grow and in 2008 we opened our second store in East Louisville. The Summit Shopping Center is one of the most prestigious retail center in Central Kentucky and has allowed us to offer our unique product lines to many more people throughout Kentuckiana. In Summer of 2010, we opened our third shop in the historic district of downtown Kirkwood, a family oriented suburb in St. Louis, Missouri. This location is our largest, and along with the lines we carry at our two shops in Louisville, we offer Company C furniture available in many colors and styles to coordinate with their colorful rugs.

Clay & Cotton is like no other boutique. Our philosophy is aligned with those who want to surround themselves with authentic, high quality things that are designed to be both functional and beautiful. The items we offer add character & warmth to the rituals of daily life.

CompanyC products feature a handcrafted blending of coordinated colors, patterns and textures using natural fibers and have been inspired by many cultures & artists from around the world.

• Women's Apparel: We offer seasonal apparel from leading designers including Pure, Nic & Zoe, Kial & Flax. Our focus is on women of all ages who want clothes that are comfortable, fashionable and affordable.

• Pottery from Ireland, England, Italy and Poland: We feature Nicholas Mosse sponge-ware from Ireland. Nicholas Mosse creates designs and patterns that are great collectible pieces. Burleigh Pottery, the quintessential English transfer-ware pottery, is steeped in history with classic designs and traditional styles and Emma Bridgewater Pottery from England invokes a wonderful charm and grace to traditional ceramic forms by using elegant and fun patterns and colors. In our stores, Clay & Cotton offers Modigliani from Rome, Italy and microwave and dishwasher safe, Polish Pottery with its European blue and white flair.

• Body Lotions and Soaps from LCDP, Archipelago Botanicals & Saipua, Clay & Cotton offers the best in body care products. From Archipelago Botanicals which offers soy milk lotions, conditioners, shampoos and body washes and LCDP (La Compagnie de Provence) provides the finest French soaps and lotions to Saipua Soaps makers of handmade olive oil based soaps scented with wonderful fragrances.

• Music from Putumayo World Music: Clay & Cotton offers an eclectic mix of Music from Around the World. From Rumba to Reggae or from the Sahara to Latino, you will find your favorite cultural music at Clay & Cotton.
